after a successful show curated by ryan hollaway and sal.ma bowan.ya, we are excited to announce that this project has received a grant from the idea fund to bring you all back for PHASE II! &
we are entering our world wide web era with artist and meme mami, christelyn nash, who will be helping us increase our digital aura for PHASE II. nash is known for building virtual worlds with digital landscapes that blur the lines between dreams and reality.
PHASE II features a cyber playground for all of ur chaos pleasures. we are working on setting up this space through hotglue.me. our goal is to create a virtual location-specific time capsule that reflects houston while providing y’all with an opportunity to incorporate internet art into your practice. we will provide more details and instructions for the hotglue.me site, but basically, each participant will be given a page on the site to drag and drop whatever ur little heart desires from the interwebs. participation is optional of course, AND we also have decided to open this up to humans outside of the initial show. participants do not have to be artists. people can participate as individuals or collaborate with friends as a collective for pages. we will also have a communal page where everyone can contribute a little unhinged chaos. we are hoping to create some sort of merch using the content on this page.

not a web designer? no worries, hotglue.me is drag and drop. not convinced? there are a couple of tutorial videos on the site that you can check out to help y’all get started. to keep with our theme of bringing the virtual world into the real world, we also are planning on hosting a couple of in-person hotglue sessions so that everyone can hangout irl and exchange hacks and ideas. more details on dates and location TBD.
